Our history

For the first time in March 2024, two brothers brought together food technology and industrial product design. The result?

TRATARO a modern family delicatessen. Joining their passion and knowledge, the two brothers decided to go back to their homeland and open a place where both locals and visitors alike can experience and taste rare products from all over Greece. Panagiotis took the design part of the store, emphasizing on the promotion of the products, he created an abstract and earthy space using natural materials such as wood and marble for the shelves and furniture. Dimitris selected and decorated them with a collection of wines from the Aegean as well as products from excellent people from all over Greece.

In this area TRATARO or otherwise the treat that hides good food and hospitality was created. The aim of our company is to promote and support small producers mainly from the Aegean islands.

What local products will you discover in Tinos?

On the island of Tinos you will find a wide variety of agricultural and non-agricultural products. The main agricultural products of the island are artichoke, capers, wine, honey and cheese. The productions can be small and often rare, always depending on the weather conditions but always of high quality and made with passion by very small producers.

What products are there in our store?

In our shop you will find a hall with local products of Tinos such as cheese, desserts, appetizers and sausages as well as pasta, sauces, traditional sweets, legumes, nuts, olive oil, fresh beer and juices, special cheeses and alpastas from the Aegean islands and other regions of Greece.

What authentic tastes do we bring from the producers of Greece?

The island has 2 cheese dairies, 6 wineries and a number of small producers. By making gastronomic trips all over Greece, we find and bring authentic products from small producers. By knowing our partners from their production sites we succeed in having a comprehensive view of the products we market.

What special dietary choices and authentic drinks from the Aegean will you find in our store?

In addition, knowing the needs of the local community and travelers, we have also gathered some special food products such as gluten-free. This room will be complemented by a second area with wines and spirits exclusively from Tinos and the Aegean islands. An exception are the rare spirits and wines from Karditsa.

OUR WINERIES

A courtyard with a view of the Aegean landscape, good company, small plates with appetizers, and a bottle of wine. This is the image we envisioned, and it’s for this image that we created Trataro. Wine is the bond that brings people together, it is what provides both liveliness and tranquility. That’s why at our store, we place special emphasis on wine, and we have created an exhibition hosting at least 14 wineries from the Aegean islands. Six of these are from Tinos. On each label, we provide detailed descriptions of the organoleptic characteristics as well as suggested food pairings. Let us know your preferred color, dryness, effervescence, and aromas, and we’ll help you choose the perfect wines.
